3rd Grade Brownies

Hello 3rd Grade Brownie Families:
We hope that you had a wonderful summer and are having a great school year so far.  We have some updates for you about our 3rd grade group.  For the 2010-2011 school year we have a few new Scouts joining us and an additional leader that you get to meet at our first GS meeting on Friday Sept. 10, 2010.  Our new Scouts are...Katelyn B.  Taylor C., and Alexa G.  The third leader of our Scouts this year is Karen Basham.
This year our grade level will be meeting at the Fresno Dharma Center from 6:30-8:00.  Since our girls are beginning their Journey lessons (in addition to Try-Its), we ask that you drop your daughter off at the FDC with us at 6:30 and return to the church at 7:45 in case we conclude earlier than 8pm.  If we need parent assistance at any meetings we will be sure to let you know :)
If you recall, last year our grade level was in charge of the Bridging ceremony with the 8th graders.  This year we will be assisting Linda Lum, to conduct the Fall Product Sale  (nut sale).  We went to a leader meeting last June and had to volunteer to lead an event this year...so we picked the Fall Product Sale as we thought it was a good task to take the lead on.  The girls can sell the nuts between October 1 - November 28, 2010.   If any scout sells the nuts prior to Oct. 1st or delivers earlier than than October 12, our whole troop could lose any profits that they make.

So far I have learned that we need to help on the following dates/times:
Friday, Sept. 10th - 2 adults from approx. 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Fresno Dharma Center to collect parent signatures (parent permission form)
Friday, Sept. 24th - 2 adults from approx. 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Fresno Dharma Center to collect parent signatures (parent permission form)

Note:  All parents must volunteer for at least one of the dates that we need assistance, with the fall product sale ,since we are in charge of this event.  Once we know the dates needed past Sept., I will email you to ask when you are able to volunteer.
Wednesday, November 17 - 3 adults from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at UJCC? to help collect nut product sale money
Date/Place TBA one of the  following dates (November 8, 9, 10 or 11?)- 4-6 adults to assist (approx. 9:30-11:30 a.m.) to help sort out the nut products.
Date/Place TBA one of the  following dates (November 8, 9, 10 or 11?)- 4 adults (approx. 5:30-8:30 p.m.) to help distribute the nut products
SNACK SIGN-UPS:
Please be sure to sign up for a date to bring a simple snack and small water for the Scouts when you drop your daughter off. I'll have the sign-up sheet ready to go on Sept. 10th.
